Pricing your available advertising space is not an easy task since there is no standard pricing structure that can fit all websites. Each website, each blog, each content provider that uses advertising as their primary, or one of the sources of revenue, are different. Advertising on a fly-fishing site is different from advertising on a music-downloading site.

With 3,000 page views a month, you most likely wouldn’t expect to see much ad revenue at all.

It doesn't work that way that is probably no fixed amount. What you going to do is that you going to charge for ads space depending on number of traffic that you are able to generate .
The time to display the ads is also a major determinant in the amount to collect as a fee or charges the ones that will be displayed for a long time will attract more charges than the ones that would be display for a shorter time and the traffic on the platform is a major determinant too.
The volume of people you have brought to your website is an important consideration when figuring out how much to ask for advertisements there. This will establish the price you will charge.

I think that is actually very true. If majority of your traffic is coming from top tier countries, the amount of money you are going to charge for ad space will be higher.
