How much of your salary should go for transportation to work?

I am of the opinion that if after you calculate your transportation ri work and what is remaining is not substantial, then you are doing voluntary work.

Your transportation to work should not exceed 10% of your salary.

That's because you work online. I am beginning to see the sense in working at home. That transportation cost alone is throat cutting.

This depends also for price of rental because some people doesn't like public transportation tools every day and then rent a house near to place of work to avoid this this should be also included in calculations.

I also work from home and I never travel at all. However, the fact of the matter is that fuel is extremely expensive in my country and this makes me feel bad as I still have to buy expensive petrol.
