How much do software developers usually make?

What is the usual going rate for someone in the software development game? As in someone who makes apps, software, etc. How much money do you tend to make for app production, or programs in general? I know some people who make apps, but they never like to tell me what they make. Maybe it's something they want to keep private? I don't know.

It depends on individual. If you are contented with what your client offer, you'll accept but if you're not contented you negotiate further. One of the advantage of being a software developer is that you have the opportunity to work for anybody you like. You can turn down job. Software developer who have their app on google play store make big money from adsense like a blogger. You even have to pay to download some app. Large part of this money goes to the app developer.

I think software developers are making money, because their softwares can be bought both online and offline, except if they did not put the software online, still they can sell it offline.

Some of the developers in my home country earn more than what the President receives as a monthly salary. It is highly paid job. However, you can earn high amount only when you are placed within a good company.
