How many domain changes have you gone through?

How many times would you say you've updated a domain for one site? Maybe you changed your mind about the name of a site, or the theme and needed to change the domain in response. What's the most amount of times you've updated one sites domain? I've updated various sites domains in the past. I can't think of any where I changed them a lot.

WHen I buy a domain for a site, I generally leave it as such, as I don't want to keep spending money on something that is only limited to if it is not owned or not. I will try to keep the domain generally to a name, where the site can have a variation of the name, based on needs.

I started with a free domain extension, webs.com . It was good but as the website started getting decent traffic, we often faced website access issues. So, I had to try some other free website domain extension again as 'co.nf'

That didn't last long and the same thing happened all over again. For the very first time, I registered a .net domain extension. It was good but I really wanted a .com domain extension. So, I let go of that domain URL completely and registered both the .com and .net extensions for the website. After 2 years or so, I had to register new domains yet again to make sure the niche keywords are being using in the domain. So, all in all I had gone through 5 domain changes so far, leaving behind 5 domains in total.

Only once I bought 0010110.co and afterwards I bought 0010110.ro which I changed and stopped using it because the project got sidetracked earlier this year.

I did once because I started my Tech based web project for limited subjects than I extended to bigger area and for that I have to change my domain name which is most suitable and it costs me lots in new design, logo, ads campaign and internal changes to make sure it links properly.

I started with a free domain though but In short, changing your domain name will indeed affect your SEO — that is, your search referral traffic — at least temporarily while the search engines get the redirects sorted out and permanently if you're not able to redirect old URLs.
So advice you just leave it , instesd accounting alot issues at the long run.

A domain name is just your website address on the world wide web. You can have a website name different than your domain name and it does not really matter. These days people do not actually remember the domain name unless they visit the website every day. I do not have the necessity of using a different domain name when the website is already running for some time.

I am never decided to change the domain name I register for my website. I make sure that the spellings are very correct whenever I want to register a new domain on my registrar. However there is some registrar that give you 72 hours increase to change the domain name you brought with them in case if there is any error in the spelling of the domain name.

Our organization's domain name have a lot of changes. It started with the acronym of our organization in dot com. When there was a problem with the contractor we moved to dot org and later we moved again to another domain name provider but the acronym was not available anymore. Going back to dot org our boss changed the domain name to an abbreviation which was not easy to remember.

Once I get a domain and build a site, I think I will stay with that domain for ever. If you frequently change your domain, you will not only lose your search value but also the traffic. Significance of your website will be lost

My websites have not gone through any domain name changes. I started a blog with xyz domain, I though it was not very good name, then I bought dot info domain. However, instead of using dot info for my blog, I continued with dot xyz and built another website on dot info
