How long should it take to start getting returns on a real estate investment?

If a person invests in real estate, how long should the person wait before the person starts receiving the expected returns on investment. I think 6 months max for a residential property. We can say 12 months for other types of property.

Depends upon the property because if you have given the property on rent then you will start earning income from it from the first month
