What's your method of dealing with spammers and trolls on your site or forum? For me, I tend to give warnings to those who act up. If they continue, I usually ban them. What are your methods?

Banning is the way to go. These people spam their links, and it can very damage a forum's reputation. It's better to warn them, and if they don't change, ban them. These people don't want to be on the forum.

If it just one or two spam posts, or even one or two troll posts depending on how bad it is I may just give a warning. I like to give people a chance. If they mess up again though it ends up in a ban, and usually that is often what has to happen unfortunately. If it like 50 spam posts and they joined just to troll, banned instantly.

Some tips to dealing with span on a site are;
-Implement user registration: Requiring users to register before participating can help deter spammers and trolls. This way, there is some accountability tied to their actions.
-Use CAPTCHA or other verification methods: Including CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) or other verification techniques can prevent automated bots from flooding your site with spam.
