I use Grammarly Premium every day and everywhere on the internet. Grammarly helps me correct spelling errors and grammar and makes my writing style sound more professional to my readers. For me, I suffer diarrhea from the brain, where words spill out of my mind without necessarily making any sense to the blog visitor.
What is Grammarly?
The AI reviews your content with its database of text, grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes and securely gathered data from its active everyday users. One of Grammarly's biggest downsides is that it requires a WiFi connection. Grammarly underlines essential mistakes in red, while the more advanced errors are in a different color. Hovering your mouse over any of the words will spark an option to correct the issue or choose to read more details of the mistake made.
I enjoy the simple structure of the outlines and examples of how the word can correctly be used in a sentence; this then helps the writer learn from his or her mistake. It's more thorough than you'll get with integrated grammar checkers to your everyday Microsoft Office Programs. In the corner of my screen, I often find a red or green circle with the number of errors displayed next to it, which is an indicator that really helps me enhance my writing skillset.
Grammarly's Software for Computers
I downloaded Grammarly on my HP Windows Laptop, and I didn't have any problems logging in. The application feels amazing, and the interface is straightforward; I especially like the sleek looking icon and buttons. Customers can pick to write text directly in an editor or import an existing text document. It's whatever works best for you.Copying and Pasting from a Word document to the Grammarly app, the company claims that only bold and italic formatting, tables, connections, and headers are retained. In checking, I noticed that it also stores the underlined words. If you want to keep all formatting, using the import feature to add the Microsoft word document will work perfectly.
Grammarly provides formatting options such as bold, italics, underlines, headings, links, and lists, and I would recommend that you only write directly to the Grammarly app. However, it's what works best for YOU. The application can be downloaded by visiting this link for free, and once installed, you will be asked to log in with the account credentials that you originally set up.
One of the functions I really like on Grammarly is the ability to click onto your profile to update your personal vocabulary and change your writing preference to a few different English varieties, as seen in the screenshot below. I would like to see Grammarly implement the ability to support worldwide languages, grow and expand their target audience, and increase the companies' sales.
Writing a document in the program, on the right side of the windows, is a tab that includes spelling and grammar mistakes, plagiarism checkers, and the ability to hire a prereader from 0.09$ per word, with a delivery time of 3 days. If your writing a project to a deadline and need a faster completion time period, paying a higher cost per word can help achieve this. As described earlier, out of one hundred, the writing score is a handy indicator to check the content and how much additional time is required for proofreading.
Another feature that I came across during my analysis is setting targets and receiving writing feedback based on your audience and goals. The tab that you can see below will be launched whenever a new document is imported. It allows Grammarly to change the edits depending on the writing context. For illustration purposes, you may determine the purpose (to inform, explain, persuade, or deliver a story), target audience, writing style, and emotions portrayed to the reader. Being a premium member or by upgrading the membership, users can select from several writing categories that include: "Scholarly, business and Artistic. If you choose to sign up for a premium plan, you will gain access to a consistency check feature. They will warn you when different versions or styles are detected in the same document your working on. Grammarly will ask you which style you want to use and encourage you to add it with a single click. In my testing, the company quickly found errors and implemented them with a couple of clicks.
Grammarly's Web Browser Add On
On the internet, the Grammarly extension tests anything you type immediately, from writing emails, messaging a friend to a professional writing job. Instructions on installing the plugin for your internet browser can be found here, on the companies support page. Underlining any errors, Grammarly works the same way on any other platform. If you are a website developer working on a webpage, you must disable it on such pages to avoid a false positive by the AI. (Artificial Intelligence).
The Microsoft Office Add-on, which users can download here, is a toolbar object for Windows OS, Mac OS, and Outlook. By toggling the forms of issues you want to revise, including spelling, punctuation, and styling mistakes. Grammarly opens a small sidebar tab and shows errors in a perfect location for the writer in the same document. Clicking on the specific corrections will bring up an in-depth explanation of the issue.
Over the past few months of using Grammarly, I did a lot of testing. Some of my readers & viewers could potentially argue that this writing AI motivates lazy writing. For sure, this is a valid argument for those who take advantage of its artificial checks without bothering to learn from their mistake that the in-depth explanation provides.
It's perfectly suitable for individuals who are consistently trying to better their writing and provide services to those who don't know they need guidance. Grammarly's true worth is the willingness to illustrate the most frequent writing errors and help you prevent them going forward. Occasionally, I found real-time editing annoying while writing the review, so I disabled the extension to finish typing my ideas without being interrupted by a robot.
Overall Review & Conclusion of Grammarly:
You probably know that Grammarly is an Artificial Intelligence system, so wrong suggestions are guaranteed. It's not going to be perfect, hence why it's important to pay attention to the edits before randomly accepting them. For example, Grammarly suggested that I rephrased a couple of sentences when it wasn't necessarily required. Grammarly will not replace your ordinary English Dictionary. Grammarly sends an email summarising your writing activity over the past week, and it's known as Grammarly Insights. This provides me with information that I can learn from with precise common errors and specific statistics, such as how many words the AI checked and how many unique words I've been using in my writing.
Grammarly's attention to detail regarding spelling, grammar, and style tips is its strongest resource. Grammarly offers monthly, quarterly, and yearly (annual) plans to its customers. However, I would like to see an offline version released by the company sometime shortly. The prices for the premium plans are listed below in the screenshot:
