yeah, game audio is important for all the games even multiplayer or singleplayer because the audio gives the game more fun and delight.

Definitely for example my game Lineage 2 has its own nature sounds when you go outside, birds, water, running sounds, winds it is really add to the game and make you feel more like you are there experiencing it urself. moreover how can we forget about the musics!! wow a game without a music is nothing compared to a game with music! the music adds so much to the game that later on when you hear the music you get flashbacks of the game... a nostalgic goosebumps feelings you will never forget!.
