I think this is an interesting question,

Forums are much better suited for richer, longer form discussions. If you look at a typical forum thread it will include a number of participants, often incorporates rich media (e.g. videos, pictures, polls, and more), and has tools better suited for responding and replying to people. Social media great for discussion, but the unit of conversation is typically smaller and often replies to that specific post. As such, I feel forums are better for longer more involved discussions and social is better for smaller more informal discussions.

In terms of the audience, I have always found social media audiences to be a little less sticky and people are instead pulled into the content when it stands out. Forums are more of a clubhouse where people join up and become invested in the community. Thus, while forums may be smaller, I suspect the quality of the content is more in-depth and longer-running.

I feel like forums are more organized than social media. While the same discussions can probably happen - I feel like it can be organized better within areas of discussion specifically.

I always prefer social media these days. It's just the norm. I also would rather run a Facebook group/page rather than running a forum.

Running a forum is better than maintaining or depending on social media sites. I have a page and group, but at this point it is hard to browse the group. No sections, now categories.

When it comes to making money online, I would choose forums but when it comes to connecting with people, it's going to be social media sites for me. Both of these medium are good but they serve different purpose for me.

I prefer forum for discussion and learning. I get to see a people who are focus and well motivated to provide information. It's more responsive. While on social media, it's more on associating socialization.

Forums are important because people use to sharw their thoughts and knowledge there but I will go with social media for my entertainment.
Yep you should go with social media, but it is hard to browse the content on social media sites ans search. You don't have copyrights on social media sites as they are for public and forever.

I agree with you, contents uploaded on social media sites are not read or debated as it is on a forum. For discussions, debates, etc are better to join a forum, still for socializing and posting pictures and videos is better to use a social site like Facebook or Instagram.

Yep, it is faster easier to post, but for searching or browsing would be harder once the content becomes in large quantity. What I would say Social media is just like a cinema hall where we watch and leave the hall to forget.

The lack of control with what's posted on social media sites is actually why most people are choosing it to use as a medium to express themselves because there are some things that aren't allowed to be discussed in forums. This is what makes social media being used more often than forums.

Forums for me. Social media is less organized than forums. The same discussions will obviously happen on social media but a forum helps organize the content into sub forums.

I know a lot of people say that social media is the biggest cause in the decrease in popularity of forums. But for me, they are two different things. Social media is for more personal things and keeping in touch with friends/family. Forums are a great place to have discussions with random people from around the world.

Some people still believe Social media is great for them even asking questions. What I see is youngsters are addicted to social media sites while most educated people are towards forums where they spend less time for getting right answer.

I think a forum is better because here everyone can know each other and interact between themselves. While on social media you have hundreds maybe even thousands of friends but 90% you don't even know who they are or how did they end up in your friend list

I like forums a lot when compared to social media.

Still, I believe that's not the case with others. People like social media and some of them are even addicted to some platforms. I never liked the interface of any social media platform. Probably that's the reason why I don't login to my social media accounts for months.
Well, all in all, I believe social media would always get the limelight when it is being compared to forums in general.

I think forum is the best for me since there are different sections to check on forum , webmaster and other section can be well educative to learn something from me

that depends on what I need:
if I want a fast news about my studies or politics or football I prefer Social Media because I am following a lot of newspapers there however if I need some information about any domain I prefer the forums because it includes rich and high-quality content.

I love forums when it comes to discussions and learning about different topics from people. In forums, you are able to really communicate and discuss things unlike in social media where you hardly really talk with people. I may only use social media for entertainment since many people post memes and videos there. I can also use it to read news and other updates.

Social media, like the word, it's just where tiuo can be social online, not really much of intelligent talks just have fun.
But I feel like forums are more organized than social media. While the same discussions can probably happen - forum gives more detailed explanation and Reason.

There is no comparison because social media has become an addiction for the general public while forums depend on how good their content is

Yeah, social media is more popular among many people. They have become so addicted to interaction there and many use for their business marketting. Many don't know about forums and those who know about them are mostly active in the paying forums only.

I prefer forums to social media that is filled with people you may have to pretend you know because they are on your friend list.

The way I see it, they are two very different things with different purposes. I don't have a lot of time on forums. This is the first Bizdustry. Here I have learned, clarified doubts, investigated among other benefits. Social media (twitter, instagram, facebook, etc) is meeting people, viewing and sharing posts, reconnecting with old friends and talking about other topics.

Since I started working on forums..I can't remember when last I visited social media cos I enjoy working on forums and I like making money from site..forums have really change the way I live and think..and I have learnt alot from them

Social media has a lot of rules so for example you may get your social media group content down if some users are using to promote their website or affiliate links in single post or between comments and these are a lot these days you need to stay hours moderating the group however in forum it will be easier. You can track spam users and ban them by ip however you can ban a facebook user that has 10 or 15 false facebook profiles created for promoting his business in forum with no relation with the subject that are joining your group.

Excellent, that's why I made my comment, each one has its purpose, both the forum and social networks, although they have their things in common, in the end they are different. And they should be used according to each purpose.

That is very correct, when you're talking about pulling up audiences like the clubhouse you need forum site, but when you mean discussion in a smaller unit, you can put social medias on. I prefer spending more time in forums than in social media cos forums are very informative and a kind of way of making money platform. Social media are always bump up with hilarious, and entertainment post.

If you looking for a more detailed, well defined and probably more correct information forums will give you that, social media is full of fake news though there are still some verified ones.

Both have different functions they perform. Social media can be used for different purposes like job listing, product promotion, chatting and other stuffs while forums serves as a community where users share ideas on different topics of interest

Forum is better for interactions, discussions and learning new things social media is preferable for news, fun and other entertaining program
There are forums that they subject about news, others about fun, and other about entertaining program it varies because forums have diversified subjects and interesters.

Forums are the best for me as they help me to both learn and earn money. I used to waste a lot of time on social media, buy my focus is now on forums.

I prefer working all day on a forum than wasting time on social media platforms
Some people work is for example administrate facebook page of his boss company or administrate instagram page of his boss company so it varies of kind of your work.

I think forum is the best not just because I can be able to earn here, but also because we have the privilege to know each other

Yeah, that is a great privilage of the forums. Interactions make us know each other. Moreover, we get to learn so much from discussions here. We are impacted with knowledge that is useful both online and offline.

Forums for more in-depth conversation, education and long term connection.

Social media tends to lack that intensity, and it draws people away from what's really important.

I prefer forums. I feel like the interaction and discussion at forums are more genuine and respectful. Even when having different point of views, the members are quite understanding. Unlike in social media, where there are a lot of hateful comments and disrespectful posts.

Well i think it still actually depends on the kind of forum you are talking about ,because there are some forums that you would actually see a lot of hateful comment also , but what matters most is the kind of individual available on that forum groups and also social media site ,

Forums are communities of people sharing ideas and discussion online, so yes, they are indeed social media. The term forum defines an online platform on which users can exchange information.

Social media for me can not be compared with anything to me. In terms of advertising your business e.g goods and services it is the best place to do it. The kind of benefit so many people especially those who are into business are enjoying can never be compared.

Ideally, very little! The reason social media is a successful medium for so many purposes, from generating awareness of a cause or world issues to increasing sales for ANY type of business is because it's social.

Forum is like putting seriousness in social media. In forum you know what you're in for, to learn yes with little incentive attached to it, that is, you earn as you learn. So no one jokes in forum like in social media as no one jokes with money.

You are right, especially when the conversation is serious, it is better to ask for suggestions or advice on forum sites if you have things you want to ask, and if you want to share something about a content. On social media, there are many people you can meet there, there are still serious ones, but there are more people who just make fun of a content and just troll.

The both forum and social media are good to involve and they have what each of them are offering. If I want to share any and get a opinion or if I want to be educative and get serious advise I will go for forum. But when we are talking about a entertainment and chat with relative, then I will go for social media.

One thing about forum is that it is always full of like nice people. Those people who happens to be members they have something in common. Take for instance, I am a member of Warrior forum, an internet marketing Forum in which all discussion about how to make money online and different techniques is being discussed. But social media is quite different, I see it as a tool of oppression in my own area is my not be like that another place.

It think running a forum is better than maintaining or depending on social media sites. I have a page and group, but at this point it is hard to browse the group and manage to it difficult but these problems are not faced in a forum.

Before the working on forums I was wasting my time on social media sites just like Facebook and WhatsApp etc.
In Facebook and WhatsApp if you are using just for entertainment then forums are 100% better than social media platforms.

Definitely dear you gave good explanation regarding it.When it comes to making money online, I would choose forums but when it comes to connecting with people, it's going to be social media sites for me. Both of these medium are good but they serve different purpose for me.

The only good thing social media gets to you is a big pool of audience if you want to use it for business advertising. There are millions of people using in the one social media site for one reason or another. So, it's easy to tap them into your business as customers.

Yep you should go with social media, but it is hard to browse the content on social media sites ans search. Some people still believe Social media is great for them even without asking questions generally.

It's very much easier to make money online through forums than other social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Even on both sides, the forum owner makes money from all the contents on his forum and traffic, then also pay his members unlike other social media sites.

Social media is an interesting platform to get people to gather and have conversations. Forums are good too and organized because people join a thread and give their opinion on them. In the end they are both good but depends on what you need them for because for advertising then social media.

I would call social media better these days and I don't run a forum either, instead I run a Facebook group which makes me very profitable and social media is great and I think that The use of gives benefits mostly. Social media is great. The forum I use benefits me.

I think social media is best as compared to forum now a days and as well as before this pandemic condition of corona virus. Because social media is emerging markets in that modern age with all respect. Social media business is increasing day by in all departments, online as well as physical business.

I prefer social media because it help you to connect to many people, social media will keep you in touch with friends and family but forums is a great place where you can have discussion for important things,

personally speaking I prefer forum to social media in forum i am allowed to express myself and get connected to people on a personal level but on social Media people easily get distracted with trending content. So I think I prefer forum site to social media. Just my opinion though

Forums are actually a good discussion movers, they are natural for discussions, they spark participation unlike social media whereby the discussions are mostly artificial in nature, they don't spark reactions they don't motivate participation. Although social network has relegated forums to the background but the importance of forums cannot be overemphasized.

To me I prefer use social media to do anything in the business because it is the faster way in which people can communicate with people and is easy for different people to notice your products and anybody can see your products in it .

Yes I believe you, forum comprises of people of same like mind and so in advertising you get more targeted clients easily to patronize you than social media.

Social media to me has more population but they are flooded with different kinds of people, and do target marketing is difficult.

Social media is less organized, in front of social media there is a discussion on the forum is easy and you do not have to try much on it and nowadays in modern days, forums are better for discussion.

Forums are more organised than social media websites. Interactions on forums are more intelligent and engaging. Most people on social media are just there to have fun not necessarily to learn anything but on forums you have people who are willing to learn about the topics raised and also speak from their own opinions of view about topics.

I think social media sites have better reach and are better platforms, whether you are selling, building content, connecting with people, marketing, advertising, anything you can think of. Even though forums also have all the elements of social sites, where you can not only participate in the discussion but also advertise, market, buy and sell, they do not have wide reach just like the social sites.

Each of them has it's purpose but I'll say that forum is better in some ways. Reason is because inside forum different threads are created which opens for different discussions whereby one can learn something new. You can bring whatever matters that is bothering you to the forum and you're likely to find d someone who will help. Social media is created to be secretive, relative and personal. It is like having a room where you decide enters it with you and who shouldn't.

Forums are like social mixers, where everyone is at equal level, milling about and discussing with others. These many to many communication tools allow anyone to start a topic and anyone to respond to one. Members are often at equal level, and content is usually segmented by topic. Blogs are like a keynote speech where the speaker (blogger) is in control of the discussion, but allows questions and comments from the audience. Blogs are journals often authored by one individual, and sometimes teams.

To me a forum is a place where you have different subjects and a long list of chatting between everybody who want to participate for each subject or thread. Facebook groups feature where everybody can join and interact with everybody who subscribed to the groupe, is a forum within a social network.

In terms of niche the forum is the best because the members would be discussing about the niche 90% of the time. With social media it can be likened to a general forum with no restrictions on the post because you can post anything under the sun as long as it is not illegal and immoral. However, the forum has costs for maintenance so I don't see the growth of the forums like before. But if it is the paid forum then I guess that is a different story.

Concerning your question on if I would choose forum or social media, I have to say when it comes to making money online, I would choose forums but when it comes to connecting with people, it's going to be social media sites for me.

Excellent writing and explanation where you highlight the difference between the blog and the forum. I really love the forum and everything it contains and it is just as you have explained, if there are doubts can be clarified and many members will give you their point of view including their experiences.

I always prefer social media these days. It's just the norm. I also would rather run a Facebook group/page rather than running a forum.
A little bit of both
I prefer forums, these days I hardly log into my social media accounts like Instagram and Facebook, I'm working of 4 forums at the moment and I've learnt so much from them

Because of their excellent customer service, Yet Another Panel has the best social media panel. There are several panels available, but what sets JAP apart is their genuine concern for their customers. If something is wrong, they will correct it. They are very helpful and attentive. Many people can speak about their programmes, but how they conduct business is more critical. They are honourable.

Both have there advantages and disadvantages, I use both Forum and social media, forum for news and information social media for networking. I can't pick from the two because they have there different uses.

Both have their own merits, but this days i hang on forums than in social media sites. I achieve helpful information on forums than in the social medias.

I prefer forum because you have the capacity to discuss more on the platform ,and also benefit to learn or know about new thing online

I think this is an interesting question,

I prefer forums to social media. Forum is a great way to learn new things and also make money at the same time. Social media is just for fun.

Concerning forum vrs social media. Well, I think both medium are good to connecting to poeple and a forum doesn't cover much ground of population like that of a social media. Forum can be more organized and precised with every discusion said in there than social media. The two are both good and they also have their mode of usage and uniqueness

I like both but they serve different purposes for me. Social media is mostly for chit chat with people I know personally but forums are more for information and you can get to interact with people all over the world plus you can get paid. I like them both for different reasons.

I think this is an interesting question,

Both forum and social media are good but I enjoy forum better because its the gathering of intellects and I always learn one or two things there everyday, it has also improved my writing skill because I was so poor before.

Presently I see social media far better than forum, this is because social media are a common and very easy for anyone to understand, and social media has more trafficking

In term of contents, forums has more quality contents compared to social media, you learn more from diverse topics on forums, while social media based more on normal interactive activities.

The most common way these days where people send and receive messages is the social media, so I will say I prefer the social media more than forums but not with standing there difference and advantages

When you go into social media, you do not know what to expect because there are actually so many people but in forums it is just a particular niche so you know what to get.

The thing about forums is that they do not use good architecture and as such are not popular like social media so social media still stands very tall as the best out there .

I do not think social media can be compared to the forums because social medias are really big companies where as forums are very small websites. facebook has 2.2 billion users. Reddit, the most popular forum on the internet has just 52 million users.

Personally I think forum is a place of learning unlike social media that is mostly for entertainment. Most content placed on social medias, it's mainly to have fun. While forums are mostly ment for learning and discussion
