Forum and Blog For Your Business Website
If you have a business website or a company website, it is very good to add forum and blog functionality on your website. The blog functionality will add contents on your website that will help your website get ranked higher on the searches. The forum functionality will create an engagements with your customers. Even if your website is a blog, you can add a forum to create engagements surrounding your article and if your website is a forum, you can add blog functionality to that you can publish tutorials and "how to" guides. You can add blog and forum through a subdomain or a multi-site functionality.

I once owned a user generated content site where I had a blog and forum functionality. It really helped my website gain traction.

Has anyone done this?

You are right. Adding forum to a blog we create room for members that don't really understand how the website work. Many user will give ideas on how to easily use the website. Also it is kind of tutorial to other newbies members

I was once on a Forum where the owner also had a blog functionality. The forum was open for paid posting for general writers, where as blog was open to only in house write. Blog functionality on forum is really nice, you can drive traffic to and fro. However, if you have a business website having forum and blog, both can be a great way to build traffic and sales.

You are right. Having both forum and blog is good. The forum that you mentioned where members paid for posting, it will be a forum that has already gotten the traffic.

The admin did not allow the users to publish blog posts, but the registered users could post on the forum and earn. The admin shared the blog posts on the forum and the users could discussion about the things mentioned on the blog post. It was a good way to generate internal traffic.

Its good to have both blog websites and forum to enhance your business websites, in forum you add topics on how to get your business growing and also get in touch with your customers by displaying your adds and allowing your customers comment in how they feel about your product, whereby you use your blog to generate more traffic.

You're true. A website owner hopping to convert his creativity into money needs to adopt the two system to gain more traffic.

This reminds me of our organization's website which was an e-magazine. We incorporated a forum which was able to gather more readers. During that time there was no social media yet so a forum was potent in establishing connections to people. But now I guess social media is better to use for gathering readers. It has a wider range of coverage.

Adding a blog to your business website is a really good way to improve your SEO and provide quality content for users, however having a forum is sometimes hit and miss where businesses are involved. In my experience businesses that have a forum tend to neglect it and it's not very active or well maintained. I'd only have a forum for a business if there was a really need for it that helped users. Otherwise it's just another thing to manage every now and again which isn't very efficient.

It is very important for any business to have a website where they will be updating people about the goings in their business. Owning a forum is also very good for business promotion.

I see your point that it is a very good one for someone to adopt in his or her website where you run your business. The forum aspect help a lot for the interactive section where you can get posts that will even generate traffic for your business too

With the information you've displayed here, I'm just keen to create my own website for my business. It will be a business, since its a retail shop. The essence of creating it, is to gain viral attention for my physical products in order to increase sales.

Well forums and blogs are actually good websites that one can use to promote their businesses online and also do their businesses using the platform. For example, Bizdustry is a forum that makes money for the owner.

This a very nice suggestion from you who have lots of experience already. I worked in a real estate company before, our marketing and sales department are always doing this job. They make blogs and write article to be published in the local daily newspaper.

This is actually a good observation from you. As a business owner, one of the best way to make a business visible is to open a blog it forum for it and do a good Search Engine optimization for the website

Forums and blogs are a great way to establish your business online. However, most businesses will be better off with a blog than a forum. Few like media newspapers or magazines can integrate a forum to their blogs.

This is actually a very good thing to try out but then I am more concerned that are the people from the forums not going to post any type of content because they are doing it only for the money?

I have not done any such combination however based on my internet experience I see that most of the website owners have a blog and prefer to have a blog rather than a forum. Forum is time consuming and constantly evolving & happening while blog can be more passive, less active and can help people who are visiting your site to give the required information.

The one I believe will be more effective is having a forum because that will enable numerous people share their thoughts bon your platform and state ideas and recommendation they have for you.

In order to promote one's business and to listen to the feedback from the audience and consumers, there is need to have at least a forum where this can be discussed

This is a very good idea, but I believe this should be done if you know how to manage them, cause if there is no proper management, this idea could backfire against you, as it could lead to your website having bad reviews.

I agree, I think this might be the best approach especially if you are looking to interact more with the users and also gain more traction to your site.

I want to really commend you for taking your time to research and post such a useful information above on forum and blog. Even though I don't have any blog or website running at the moment, it is really good gaining new knowledge in different fields as no knowledge is a waste as we don't know the one that becomes helpful in the future. Thanks for sharing.

Yes it is a very great idea to add a forum system to your blogs because of which users and viewers can add the idea of which even the author might have not known as it will look so awkward adding a fresh post to blog comment that is not related in any angle. :)

I have never done this before because personally I would not even have time for blogging or forums manager , this will be time-consuming because you are to constantly be on the social media and be checking the activities of other people
it is not my area of interest.

If you want a discussion, you might need a forum, if you want to publish tutorial or informative post, blog can be better. I don't think you need a forum and blog at same time for your business website.

I would sincerely implement a forum on the website of the business I own. but to use it strictly for questions / conversations between clients / users like. I can't put the "gaming" category on a car service forum.

This is a very good idea and it's something I've discovered that a lot of these big brands do. Since interactions are limited on their sites, the only way to get feedback is through blogs and/or forums.
People or users will have a sense of belonging to a community and that will improve trust.

I agree with you on this, having both might even be difficult to manage as well which could lead to the wrong messages or topics being discussed.

A forum is for interaction - to show your expertise, build strong ties with subscribers, create groups to discuss/debate matters etc. It's usually more of a 2-way conduit, while blogs are usually a one-way traffic type case where you go on writing and sharing,

If you have a business or corporate website, adding forum and blog functionality to your website can be very useful. The blog feature adds content to your website that helps your website rank higher for search queries. r Even if your site is a blog, you can add a forum to create conversations about your articles. Also, if your site is a forum, you can add a blog feature where you can post tutorials and guides.

By including a forum to a blog, we make space for users who are unfamiliar with how the website functions.
Many users will share suggestions about how to use the website quickly.
Additionally, it functions as a tutorial for other new members.

This makes me think of the e-magazine-style website for our company. We included a forum, which was successful in drawing additional readers. Since there were no social media platforms at the time, forums were effective for connecting individuals. However, I believe that using social media is currently preferable for attracting readers. It covers a greater range of ground.

There are a number of blog that also look like "e-magazine" and I think that it is a great way to look professionals. There are many magazines out there that have a professional blog as well.

If you have a forum and a blog in your website directory it will be easier to manage your forum and blog on the business website. However, if you have a different site for forum and blog, it might be a daunting task.

I think that running a blog and a forum is a great idea. There are many businesses that have a blog and a forum as well for their members. Even PayPal company also has its own forum and website.
