Finance & Good Maths Skills

Financing and accounting are for people without mathematics skill , because this will help you to do the calculation easily ,without good mathematical skills it might be difficult for you to make an accurate calculation in the business.

Finance is actually a very good job of numbers as you will have to calculate every now and then. A person hoping to get to it should have sound knowledge of maths.

I do not think you need to be a mathematician before you can successfully run a business. There are many illiterate that run and own a successful business.

If you want to go into finances it is very clear that you should have sufficient knowledge in mathematics but with latest technology you do not have to suffer.
That is also a good idea if you do not want to go into finance it is very clear that you should have sufficient knowledge about at least technology so you did not suffer

Mathematics is extremely crucial in the life of any business man in order to know what you are up for and how to handle certain situations and calculate profit a loss ... that’s why education is advised !

i really like math since school but if we're in finance industry, we use application tho and it's not related to math, more related to accounting
Got me thinking not too long ago regards maths, in fact, I was calculating my total reference on my website and then financing was picked up. How good of your maths skills do you need to do financing with, I mean I'm shocking at maths any day at any time, always has been, point is that the fact that you do need to work out numbers and add it together. Bigger the numbers and bigger the bills more involved. Hell, at times if you have 5 or more loans that's a big workout.

Have anyone got stuck on financing and it's because of your maths skills?

I won't get a job at a bank at all, Get rejected for just not having a level of math

For you to be able to do a proper record on your balance sheet, you just need some basic knowledge about maths,it does'nt need to be that detailed, but just some basics in addtion, subtraction and averages and percentage conversion. If you can use spreadsheet like excel,it will make the job more easier.

That's why the educational system is just quite unsatisfactory, we are being taught "book knowledge" in school and not " real life knowledge" not until we graduate before we realise this most times.

I dont necessarily think you need math skills to be stable financially. Basic accounting skills is all you need my friend.

In business the financial department should be given to people who are really good in mathematics because it deals with calculation of expenses and other business issues, good Mathematical skills is very important.

You do not have to be discouraged by the hectic process of calculation in maths. If you are not lazy for work, you find it interesting to do. tell your self it is easy and I can do it, that's the spirit, then you are doing well in it.
Every financial manager must be good in mathematics another for your sheet to be able to make good calculation and also to be able to balance his account.

Managing finances is actually something that involves a lot of numbers and that is why it is always advisable to have entry-level knowledge in mathematics.

In finance and accounting a high level of mathematical and quantitative analysis is needed, but in your business to calculate your transactions you just need basic level of arithmetic to do that.
Though if you want to more than that you'll need to seek assistance of a professional.

That is right. The education system in most countries usually misleads people alot. You are taught much of theory instead of being impacted with real and practical life skills.

I believe that math is very easy. It's just addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

But of course mathematics in school is so simple and easy to do. I don't know if it is applied in actual business.

As a finance director or specialist you must be able to do much because it is the fundamental knowledge that one is required to have before he can be able to call himself a financial specialist

I think that finance and maths goes hand in hand because there is a lot of calculations and equations that are involved in order to analyse and keep track of financial transactions and therefore it is definitely a must.

That's why I like to educate students each time I meet them on self education as that is the only way to leave the constraints of the four walks of the classroom.

I am not that good at solving maths. But I manage my expenses and income very well. To be accepted in bank jobs, you don't need to be a pro in working maths. There is software meant for that. You just need to learn how to use it.

There's a level of certainty that is needed in maths when relate to Bank, and not just the basic mathematics skills that we prominently have but a higher advanced level to aid in softwares like Excel.
