You should keep your page down to 3-4 MB so that your webpage loads in 1-2 seconds. If your page takes more than 5 seconds to load, visitors will close your page and move forward.

The time of loading for your website should be superfast. Your pages should not be too heavy as this will take more time to load contents. Keep it as light as possible for easy and very fast loading.

I will also like to advise that simplicity is always going to be better if you do not have a sophisticated idea that people will be able to fall back to easily because people do not have all the time to spend on your website.

The one thing that makes my skin crawl is the slow opening of websites. it ruins the feeling of buying such a good computer just for the programmers not to have their websites run fast enough. Something I do to make my search engines and browsers load faster is adding more ram to my computer! It makes it run so much smoother and faster by a couple of milliseconds.

Your article is insightful and really helpful. I'm considering learning the graphic design. I am not really planning to be working for people, if I see good offer, I will take it though. I want to learn the skill so, I can be using it for my own personal project. I will still publish book to amazon and I will need the service of graphic designer.
