Do you allow advertising in signatures on your forum?

Most forums I frequent nowadays allow you to have maybe one or two links in your signature to advertise your websites if you would like to whilst you are active on their forum or you can just have something random like a quote in there if you wish. This is usually based on the forum owner's decision and some do not allow the posting of links on their signatures but will allow other things such as quotes or maybe an image.

Do you allow advertising in signatures on your forum? If so, do you have any rules as to how many links or what can be advertised? I myself allow advertising of up to two websites in the signature or text or an image as I feel that is enough and isn't too overboard.

Allowing someone to advertise with signature is not a bad idea on my own perspective but it should be regulated so as to avoid abuses and also to reduce the level of fraud on your forum

For now, i don't own a forum. When i decide to own one, i would allow advertising in signatures on my forum. Users might be limited to making use of not more than two links in their signature to advertise their website on my forum.

I am only going to allow the person to post links to their relevant social media networks or opportunities that are verified. I am always going to remove them whenever I feel that they are deceptive

if you could be doing this then it would go a very long way as it would help so many people on your platform from been prey to deceptive people and people that are there to consume on their gullibility

I allow signatures on my forum, users are free to share 3-4 links in their signatures. However, I have a policy where the posters cannot share links to phishing sites, scam sites, and porn sites. I need to be careful about the signatures the users share on my forum.

I agree, so many people will try and abuse a system like this if they are given the chance to so it does need to be heavily moderated to an extent to avoid any kind of phishing or not being safe for work links. I am all for people advertising websites, businesses and such as I feel that does help them and I am all for helping people get their business and services out there.

Well, to me, advertising a website, or even a product, with signature is not a problem. I can allow that as forum because it's a normal thing. Actually, when you visit a person signature, it means you want to know much about such person. So, if the include link to his website or social media account in the signature, it's not a problem.

Due to the fact that I don't have website or forum of my own, but I don't think that should be an issue. I have seen many forums they don't accept that, at least creating space for that should considered.
