Yes its a great opportunity to polish writing skill through attend different writing seminars .for this purpose you must search wriing skill websites and also British council writing skill category page.
In fact, there are occasions in my country where small seminars have been held, mainly on creative writing and literary creation, where different topics are discussed, including their development and improvement. But it is very rare when it has been done, they are almost always small workshops and courses. Now internationally if they are summoned, related to writing in general.

The first seminar that I attended was playwriting. That is the stage play. The next was script writing for movies and tv that was extensive with a total duration of 21 days. The next was story writing and some other minor writing seminars that also included article writer. I would say that I have learned a lot from those writing seminars and workshops that I attended because I got a good use of the skills. It was just unfortunate that movies are now suffering so script writers have become hungry.
Writers do have their own seminar where they talk about current writing trends and how to improve themselves. I remembered stumbling upon a writers seminar by mistake in an event center where I accompanied a friend to do something. It was a wonderful experience, I stayed there and listened to their symposium for a while before I was booted out for not being a part of them.
People who write should attend as many seminars as possible so that they have opportunity to gain more knowledge. and thus they will become more and more proficient in writing and they write every kind of theme in a better way.

Well........it is not mandatory to attend seminar if you are writer but very compulsory in order to gain from other writers that are highly intelligent and professional more than you so as to improve your own writing ability.
While social media can be a great tool for connecting with writers building an author platform, and engaging in book marketing efforts, a social presence isn't strictly compulsory to accomplish any of these tasks.
