What's new

Do not be in a hurry, investigate before you buy Land.

The other way your being decieved is by telling you the genuiness of the property comes from a set of documents. Those set of documents include either a survey plan, a deed of assignment, a certificate of occupancy, government allocation letter, government gazette or governors consent.

They will show you all manners of papers to make you believe them instantly and start pointing to different houses around there that has been built by one commissioner or one Minister or one big man and that their houses are still standing without any government wahala. What they want you to do is to instantly believe them and pay money to them immediately

You shouldn't even proceed to buy a proper which you can't visit but you only hear about and they are trying to pressure to make a down payment before you can even get to see the property in question, that's a red flag to look out for before paying for any property.

I definitely agree! Because it's a very long, costly, and stressful process to dispute land ownership so better investigate what you're dealing with to make sure there are no issues with the land property.

I know so many people who rushed the process and ended up losing so much money because of this.

The house itself either needed a lot of repairs or the land had all sorts of issues and health concerns.

Yes is really good to investigate a land before buying in order to know that the land you buying has a legal document because some landowners can sell the land with different people, that is why is really good to investigate properly.

This is always automatic most specially
for anyone that is interested to invest huge sum of money into any property , obviously no one can just invest in anything like that without any interest to carry out research from neighbouring residents and other ways

You are very right that we all should be very careful on how and from whom we choose to buy any land or even building properties from. They might use a fake document to trap us. Always cross check with local authorities in charge to verify documents before buying that land
There various ways that one can go to ensure that the land he is paying for is actually genuine, sometimes the document might be geniune but it might be a stolen or property that is in dispute.

Sometimes, you are lucky to see the real owners but the land is subject to family hassle. My dad would go to the community head and enquire about the land and it's history before making payments for the land.

The problem some people made when trying to buy land is that they don't bit her investigating about the land before the pay money do it ,most of the time the seller sells the land for more than two customers thereby leading to problem and conflict between the buyers.
Most people have fall victim of fraudster by buying land that has already been owned by someone else , you need to make a through investigation concerning the land you are buying before buying it.
