Actually getting to a very high ranked in any company, is not an easy jobs sometimes even no matter how hard you worked, it will be very difficult for you to reached there.

It all depends on how many connections you have. When you run a business for a really long time, you tend to make connections and establish relationships with people in the same field.

That's true, if you have been in a business venture for a very long time you will probably establish a lot of connections which will help you in the future. If you're a business person it will be very much easier for you.

There is no doubt that such things happens in some businesses but it requires a lot of work and consistency. If you are consistent enough it is possible for you to get a head of a higher placed employee.

Yeah, anybody who always contributes positively to the growth of a business venture will probably get promotion. All that is required is some level of consistency and the business owner recognise your hard work on the long run.

While this can strain the working relationship in an organization, it rests on the owner of the organization calming nerves and the irregularly promoted staff showing respect still to the senior men whom he is now placed above. I have been in that position before and I massaged their egos by always consulting them on any decision I intended taking in the organization. Obviously, I had the final decision.

Was there ever a time where you somehow got ahead of a higher ranked employee? Or got a job before someone who had seniority? I have not had the privilege of being chosen in that way myself, but I think it'd be cool to be hired over someone else who had more time with the job before me.

I've not had this kind of opportunities come for me in all my life's work. It would be nice to get a promotion but it's good to have the promotion without stepping on others. It will make you a target in the company. You won't have a moment of rest in the new position you find yourself in.

I have always had this believe that when it comes to promotion at any workplace it should be based on productivity and the success you have in carrying out your required duties and not by age because someone might be in a company for 5 years without having much impact while someone has been with the company for 2 years and have a better impact.

I've not been able to do this kind of a thing in my workplace and I believe that it is something that would hardly happen as long as the high-ranking employee is always dedicated to his job. It is going to be very difficult for you to topple the person at his best.

I have worked in a company that never had any great opportunity for low-ranking employees. This is why I never even thought about 'advancing" or getting promoted. Having said that, a person should work harder and try to get promoted in workplace settings that offer greater opportunities.

It's really not proper to get ahead of your fellow employee even if you've accomplished a great fit. The best thing the company should do is to maybe promote you to the next position and not further than that.
