Clothing Industry: Should Clothes Be Gender Neutral?

It depends on the owner of the comoany , what he prefers doing , he might prefer starting a clothing comoany base on his own intelligence ,he might be neutral or decided to go for a male or female clothing.
It s all at there own advantage. There are some companies that are specialised in the production of a particular gender clothing while there are some that are neutral in gender depending on their level of benefit.

Actually the decision of every company depends on the management and such kind of benefits they can derive from such decisions. a company can decide to be gender neutral or gender base depending on it choice.

Fashion in general is something that has a lot to do with gender and you definitely need to consider that whenever you are starting your own clothes company. You might decide to produce gender-neutral clothing and that is completely on you.

A male body is very different from a female one and this changes with age. Shirts are a bit easier but pants will be an issue. Women have larger hips than men. Pants only work as gender neutral when the pants are sweats or something similar. Fitted pants, dress pants, and jeans can't be sized like this without making things confusing for everyone.

I think every business company has it owned agenda and priority it can be more profitable for an industry to engage in gender neutrality and also gender specification.

The type of clothes that is usually being used by people is determined by them and not you who is producing them. There can never be gender-neutral clothes that is going to be the most popular thing and as such you should keep it that way.

Well I guess in the spirit of liberalism I think maybe the clothing shop can go a little bit further in bridging that gap, I think if you are a man or identify as trans wants to shop for women clothes you should be able to do that without fear of being stereotyped.
That is what should be optainable,in the sence that the individual involve should be able to have a choice when it comes to the aspect of choosing what he wants to put on,it should not be compel

You are right , clothing industry should always be neutral because we as human decides on which brand of cloth we prefer to wear , so wearing clothes should be based in choice .

I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with targeting different genders with clothes. I do think there is a point in having gender neutral options, too, though. In some stores I see "unisex" options for sure.

This is a very sensitive topic. I think there are clothes specific for a particular gender, while there are clothes that are unisex and can be worn by both males and females.

Each organisation or company has their own ways of doing business , they might find making both male and female clothing time wasting and find one of it demanding , so they go for it

Personally to some extent I think if clothing are made gender neutral then it may affect some of the producing company and may not be able to meet up to there target because some are specialised in one aspect.

I don't understand the need.
Clothes are highly dependent on one's culture and literally all cultures have gender segregated dress code.
Furthermore, there's already a uni sex category. So it already exists.
And also, almost none of women's clothes are suitable for men. While men's clothes are generally very suitable for women.

There is what is known as examining your audience before you go into any kind of business. If you believe that neutral gender clothes are going to bring you more money based on the environment then that is what you should be coming for.

Should clothes be gender-neutral? Should retailers and clothing businesses stop targeting their marketing towards specific genders? I was thinking the other day why retailers and clothing businesses target ladies' clothes for ladies, and men's clothes for men's. There is nothing to stop a lady wearing man's clothes or the other way around, but the biggest issue is shopping in the opposite sex section of the clothing store - it can make customers quite uncomfortable!

Keep it respectful - but let's debate this subject. Basically, should retailers and businesses stop targeting their advertising towards men/women?
Fashion and gender are more or less literally bedfellows, and that should be a factor in your thinking when starting a business venture involving clothing. I think it is dependent on the business manager whether he or she wants to be a trailblazer in the niche of gender-neutral clothing

When we want to look at business,we should always look at the market based on global audience, once you look at it that way,you will know that some cultures in the world respect gender and what they put on.

You first need to look into the environment and know what your people in that environment wants before starting your business , first we do start our industry based on what we know and learn , you can't start a unisex industry when you only know about a female clothing ,

Actually, I'm not sure that fashion would exist without gender. As for basic attire, I think it has already become gender-neutral. The purpose of clothes is not only to cover your body. I think it's the best way to make a statement about yourself and your personality. So, fashion literally can't exist without gender because it would be nonsense!! But I can't imagine my recently bought front closure bras amazon to be gender-neutral. So, just keep calm and accept reality as it is. Best wishes to you all, guys.

I do not believe that brands should stop focusing on both men and women. Each firm requires a target market since that is what sells. The type or category of what you are making must be known. However, I believe that everyone should be allowed to shop and wear whatever they like. Nobody should be discriminated against for choosing to shop in a store with people of the opposing gender. It is related to how consumers are acting.

I think tailors should truly consider this and start making gender neutral clothes. But it is clear that most men clothes already fit most women.
