The best example of white hat SEO is using relevant keywords in title, description and tags and keeping keywords under 5 percent, building long contents, etc. If I have to choose, I will choose to work on keywords because search engine picks the rank from the keywords used on the site.

There are various factors involved in search engine ranking and keyword usage is one of them. The recommended keyword usage for web content is 5 percent. If your article is 1000 words, you can repeat your keywords 50 times. Imagine an article where there is 10 percent keywords or 100 keywords in 1000 word articles. Do you think this article will be readable? How does it feel to read an article where certain words are repeatedly used. Search engines like readable content. Their algorithm analyzes articles based on readability.
