I don't know what your definition of computer is because according to my own knowledge, even a laptop qualifies as a computer. But if you are talking about the desktop computer, then I will say its relevance is still pretty much intact. It can't be replaced by laptop or tablet or any other device, not to mention high tech companies, schools, libraries etc still prefer it. So I don't think desktop computer can lose its value.

In the academic sectors, during research, PCs are used and not tablets or Smart Phones.
