Why are my country it has always been 18 years anyone less than 18 cannot play lottery because he is not yet an adult and does not have responsibility over himself.

I believe every bet age limit has always been 18 but like I would tell people it's just a way of milking your hard earns because only 1% go home smiling out of 100% so they call you lucky

This law really don't have effect in the country because every man for himself, it's a good though because age 16 is just to young for someone to start gambling that is only if it's implementation strictly in my country
Here in my country gambling I not supported neither is it prohibited in the country,but most person kicks against it yet the youth still do not want the government to scratch it out

If I were opportuned, I'd even raise this age further to say about 22. Most young adults these days have failed to grow and even at that age are still prone to errors of childishness.

To me, i don really any sense in doing that because it with not stop other from doing it or from the young people from giving it to the adults to play it for them.
Gambling does alot of harm than good most times. I feel it is a good thing the government increased the age to participate in the national lottery to 18 instead of 16. It will surely yield positive results.

Lottery and gambling is a big waste of time and money. I do not engage into lotery and gambling for religious reasons. I also believe that gambling eventually becomes an addiction and many people lose money through this way.
I think that's the best age setting. Here in Nigeria, the normal age or let me say the usual age for you to take charge of your own life is at 18, you can play lottery, gambling or any other semi-illegal stuffs. Lol
That is the way to go, my concern is how the government will be able to identify under 18 who may want to play on online. I believe they have a way of identifying them. That couldn't not be said here in my country the gambling age is 18 and above on paper but in reality, we have lots of under age teenagers gambling.

I actually think in my country when you reach about 18yrs of age ,you can play the national lottery ,but I guess it was probably increased to prevent the underage kids from involving in gambling too
The only time the government tried to raise money through lottery was when it was trying to raise funds to organize international games. The lottery ran for a month and a lot of people were able to earn some money. There are no government sponsored lotteries in the country.
In most part of the world, especially my country , when you reach 18 years of age, you are responsible for your own life and can do what you want, I remembered whenever I go to betting shop to bet in games , they always ask people that looks younger if they are 18 years before they can grant them access to play, because under 18 cannot gamble and party in an hotel in my country,

Those from ages eighteen and above are rates responsible, so they are entitled to play lotteries. The younger ones will desist from it and probably concentrate in school.
The government placed sanctions on individuals who are below the age of 18 to play lottery or gamble. If anyone allows under age in his bet shop, he will be held responsible.
But even with this don't you think some of them are even doing it secretly, even after the government has made rules and regulation against illegal age from engaging in lottery , a lot of them will still engage in it after all the government has not made adequate preparation for this law to be active.

I think the age limit being put on may of these platforms is just to make regulatory bodies know but deep down no one is enforcing it, we see young children in bet houses everyday even in school hours!
I think that is a better ways of protecting our younger generation from being corrupt. Most times when you are below 18, you are responsible to your parent control but exceeding, you are on your own to protect yourself.

It is not just about setting an age limit if there is no proper implementation of this The Young ones will still find a way of getting involved in betting and other forms of lottery activities.
In my country the age limit as been 18 years right from time. If you are below age 18, you are not eligible to enter into a lottery shop to play. You will have to play when you are above the stipulated age.

It has been 18 in the US for as long as I could remember. Where is this for? I would imagine it is somewhere like the UK where the age was 16 for gambling and drinking for sometime now.
The age limit to play lottery in my country as always been 18+ and that is why it is not legally right for someone below this age to go play lottery. The police would arrest the owner of a shop if it happens.

That is one thing. They are not keeping to the rules and regulation of the government. Even if government have to make it for 18 year old and above , those vendors will still allow people below that age to play

There are no lotteries i my home country, our government considers lotteries to be gambling and gambling is strictly prohibited. However, I believe that in countries where a lottery is legal, there should be the minimum age to participate in lotteries. We should not allow young people to lose money by playing lotteries.
Does your country ban it for religious reasons? I have seen that in Muslim countries it is forbidden for this issue, in my country gambling is legal, and therefore the government also has its lotteries and the minimum age to participate in them is 18 years of age, which is understandable and correct.
Seriously, I have a big indifference when it comes to living in any of Muslim countries that I have friends and relatives staying. There are so many things that goes against their rules I can't deal with. I don't even have any problems with gambling and betting but when I can't drink my alcoholic beverages there, I won't love living there.

Yes, they have many rules, but I think that the people who live in these countries are used to it, I have nothing against gambling either, and I don't think that prohibiting it is the solution, because that will only lead to more crimes related to gambling activities

Yeah, that's very correct. When you have decided to live in any particular country, you're definitely going to find a way to be used to their laws, otherwise you can't cope living there. My lifestyle when it comes to drinking alcoholic beverages will never make it easier for me to live there. Also, I love clubbing and partying which I know is against their rules too. The government may think that prohibiting everything is the way but it's truly not because some people still find a way to do them in secret. I can't hide to enjoy my life.

Unfortunately, betting and gambling companies goes to any length just to make sure that they have their business in the eyes of everyone. They don't care if it's kids or adults, but as long as they have their business moving, they are very good.
Yes, there's age restrictions on products like alcohol and tobacco but not on fireworks in my state. There's no business here which will sell alcoholic drinks to any kid that's underage or tobacco too. They will not still it even if they are sent by an adult.
This is exactly what's obtained in my country today when it comes to how the business of gambling and betting shops are carried out. As long as you come with your money, they will welcome you in with open arms irrespective of your age.

Purchasing lottery tickets is also a kind of gambling as well. You tend to contribute a small amount of money in order to "win" the prize money. So, in essence you are betting money. This is why there are so many people who are also addicted to this bad habit of gambling.
Personally, I know a lot of people in my country that are into playing of lottery on daily basis. Most of them don't even win and when you calculate the amount of money that they have used in playing lottery everyday, it has accumulated to a very big amount of money but they still don't have any wins from it.
