The value of real estate can actually increase within a year though it might not be common in most situation. The government just situated an international dry port in a village where my uncle own his farm. Immediately the port was commissioned, the prices of lands in areas surrounding the port increased by more than 500%.
Since I was a boy I already know that real estate here have never suffered a depreciation in price. My father said that depreciation only happens when there is a phenomenon in the area like a volcano was born or an earthquake fault is discovered.
