Acceptable lengths of domain names

I don't abide by the idea of have a long domain name. It sometimes reduces traffic to a website. Because if a domain name is long. This will not let the visitors to be able to remember the domain name and some people are lazy to type long domain name like me

As far as I am concerned there are no limit to the length of your domain because they are limited but it is expected that people generally gravitates more to short domain names than long ones.

If you are planning to register a brand new domain name, it should not have more than 12 characters in length. you can still register a domain name that has more than this character. It is the end user that will determine the real value of a domain name.
